Parental engagement and additional options for families getting Tassomai through schools

We know parental engagement makes a big difference to academic success, that’s one of the reasons we encourage schools to set up weekly progress reports for parents and guardians.

Contact your Customer Success Manager if you don’t have progress reports in place but would like to set them up.

Once progress reports are set up parents can also access their own parent dashboards. The parent dashboard shows:

  • Daily goal progress

  • Strengths and weaknesses

  • Additional learning resources to target weaker topics

  • Their child’s Tassomai Trees for each active subject

We’re also often asked by parents if they can add any of the other subjects available to Tassomai’s private subscribers.

That’s led us to create Boost, a new option for parents whose children get Tassomai through schools, allowing families to upgrade to the full Tassomai private subscriber experience for a fraction of the price.

We’re trialling Boost over the course of the 22/23 academic year to test the level of interest from parents.

The longer term aim of Boost is to make Tassomai as accessible and affordable for as many schools as possible while covering some of our running costs through parental contributions. We also want to work with schools to identify ways to make Boost as accessible as possible to parents on lower incomes should we roll it out more widely.

How can parents at Tassomai schools add Boost?

The option to add Boost appears on the parent dashboard, on both mobile and desktop.

Note that for GDPR reasons we are only able to show the Boost option to those parents that have explicitly given their consent for us to keep them informed about news and updates from Tassomai.

This consent is granted by the parent from their parent dashboard and can be changed at any time in the account settings section of their dashboard.

Are there other developments in the pipeline?

Yes! We’re working on some additional features to help families through exam season, these include Daily Focus Sessions, a 28-day, paid add-on that we’re trialling with eligible KS4 parents.

Focus Sessions are designed to target a student’s weaker topics and in particular, those where they are underperforming relative to their peers. The student will be directed to a resource (usually a video or a BBC Bitesize page) before answering a new-style quiz on that topic.

As with Boost, Focus Sessions are only offered to those parents who have explicitly given their permission to hear more from us.

You can learn more about Boost here and read about Daily Focus Sessions here.
