The Tree

Watch knowledge and understanding grow

The Tree is a visual representation of a learner’s knowledge and understanding based on their Tassomai usage and the questions they’ve answered.

A learner’s tree grows over time, and can be used to identify topics they are strongest in, and those that need more work.

Who can see the Tree?

The Tree is accessible to all Tassomai students and their parents via their account dashboards and from the app.

  • Parents whose children get Tassomai via their schools, will only have access to their parent dashboards if they have been set up by the school to receive our weekly parent report emails.

Teachers can access students’ trees via their teacher dashboards, and they can also view usage data for individuals or whole classes via the Understanding Grid.

Watch this short animated introduction to find out how the Tree works.

The Tassomai Tree

Cultivating an environment for learning

The Tree helps parents to engage in their child's learning, it inspires conversations and encourages awareness and appreciation amongst learners of their own abilities.

Observing the Tree grow boosts confidence and stimulates metacognition in students - the process of “thinking about one’s own thinking”.

Such a creative - and easy to understand - data visualization from Tassomai. Love the tree!

Using the Tree to support targeted catch-up tuition

During the Covid pandemic, Tassomai’s founder Murray Morrison offered free catch-up tuition for Tassomai students, working with them one-to-one for 15 minutes each.

It’s the Tree that made these short micro-tuition sessions so productive, allowing Murray to rapidly identify problem areas and focus intensively on specific topics.

I found the session very effective at addressing any problems I had and within 15 minutes those issues were now solved.
- Leo, student

Murray started offering micro-tuition sessions in September 2020 to help students catch-up.
