If you have taken a look at Tassomai recently, you might have noticed a few new feathery faces popping up in student accounts.

We are thrilled to announce the latest expansion to our Achieviary collection: The Streak Birds.

Key points

Key takeaways

  • The Streak Birds are new digital collectible reward stickers on Tassomai, awarded for completing daily goals on consecutive days in any single subject.
  • Each bird in the Streak Birds collection contains hidden details and is revealed only upon earning, including facts about its place in nature, folklore, or poetry.
  • Daily streaks are promoted over accuracy to encourage consistent study habits, manageable daily goals, and reward effort rather than talent.
  • Teachers can track streak progress using the updated Leaderboards DataDrop and use the birds as a resource for celebration assemblies.
  • Encouraging students to maintain daily streaks is an effective way to build confidence and reduce homework friction.

The Streak Birds

Why Tassomai is rewarding daily streaks with new Achieviary birds

The ‘Achieviary’
The ‘Achieviary’ (already in this post)

Designed by our in-house artist Henry Richardson, this new collection celebrates students who build momentum by completing daily goals on consecutive days in any single subject.

Badges are available for reaching streaks of 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, and 25 days.

We wanted these rewards to feel personal, so each bird was selected because it holds special meaning for our team. Most are species you can spot across the UK, though one or two are a little more exotic.

  • Hidden Details: Look closely at each illustration. Henry subtly worked the streak number directly into the bird's design.
  • Secret Identities: The identities of the birds are a total secret until unlocked. Once earned, students receive a digital collectible alongside facts detailing the bird's place in nature, folklore, or poetry.
  • Flexible Unlocks: Reaching a milestone like a 5-day streak unlocks that specific bird on that day or any day after. If a student misses out on the exact day because they earned an even rarer reward, that missing bird drops on the following day, provided their streak stays active.

The science behind streaks

How daily study streaks support long-term learning

We know that setting up habit loops works. Seeing a chain grow makes people want to keep it going. Behind the fun game elements, there is solid cognitive science driving why we care so much about daily usage:

  • It is an established rule of memory that breaking study time into small, regular chunks leaves a much stronger imprint than dumping hours into a single evening.
  • By logging in every day, students let Tassomai's algorithms hit that sweet spot, testing them right at the point of forgetting, which is where real long-term learning happens.
  • When kids drop in every day, the system stays up to date, which keeps their daily target surprisingly small and painless.
  • It turns what could feel like a massive homework chore into a quick five-minute routine.
  • Unlike high-accuracy awards, streak birds are entirely democratic.
  • A student does not need to get every question right or be top of the class to collect them all.
  • They just need to show up and give it a go.

For teachers

How teachers can use Streak Birds to support the classroom

We have also updated the Leaderboards DataDrop, accessible right from your teacher dashboard, so you can track streak progress across your year groups or the whole school.

Just like in the student app, the identity and artwork of each bird stay hidden on your sheet until at least one student in your school unlocks it. It offers a great, ready-made resource for Friday celebration assemblies, allowing you to highlight perseverance alongside high scores.

Encouraging routine

Whether you are a teacher looking to boost engagement or a parent encouraging routine at home, encouraging students to guard their streak is one of the easiest ways to build confidence and cut down on homework friction.
