Quiz Powers
We’ve released a new feature: Quiz Powers!
Quiz Powers are abilities students can use when they need a little helping hand while quizzing. To begin with, students will have two powers to pick from. The first power is ‘Eliminate’ - a completely new power that allows students to remove one wrong answer.
The second power is more familiar: Mai Helps, which allows students to talk to our digital tutor Mai to get hints and support.
Students are rewarded with a token for the use of one of the powers when they hit the Target for correct answers in a quiz.
These new quiz powers are designed to achieve a number of things:
Bring more fun to quizzing;
Give students more agency over their learning;
Encourage higher accuracy by rewarding it.
This change also means students will have more opportunities to use Mai Helps, which we have recently updated to be much more focused on guiding students how to arrive at the correct answer. This provides an even greater educational benefit from the feature as well as much more efficient support.
