A guide to Class Tasks
What are Class Tasks?
Class Tasks are teacher-set assignments on Tassomai, designed to target specific topics for a class, group, or year. Each Class Task includes a 12-question quiz — and in some cases, a linked resource (such as a video or article) for students to view before attempting the quiz.
Unlike Tassomai’s adaptive mode where students work independently on personalised content, a Class Task delivers the same quiz to every student in a class, set by teachers through their dashboards.
You choose the subject, topic, and due date. Tassomai delivers a 12-question quiz directly to your students, who complete it independently but to a shared deadline.
Why use them?
We built Class Tasks in response to a common teacher request:
“Sometimes I just want every student doing the same quiz — for revision, for pre-mock prep, or to check understanding before moving on.”
Class Tasks are perfect for:
Revision or exam preparation
Class-wide intervention strategies
Checking understanding before or after a topic
Setting purposeful homework or cover work
With our latest update, Class Tasks are now even more flexible: you can choose whether or not to include a linked resource. This means you can set a Class Task on any area of content, whether or not a resource is available, making them suitable for even more Tassomai subjects.
How do they help?
Focus on specific content — ideal for exam prep or reviewing misconceptions
Same task for all students — good for standardised assessments
Clear visibility of progress — track who’s done what, and how well
Fits into lessons or homework — flexible timing and no prep required
Improved flexibility — no need to include a resource (though you still can)
ADD TEACHER TESTIMONIAL HERE
e.g. “Class Tasks let me target exactly what I want — it’s brilliant before assessments, and I can see instantly who’s done the work.”
What makes a Class Task different?
12-question quiz — always the same length, always on the same topic
Fixed for the whole group — all students get the same content
No access to Mai during the quiz — making it better for checking independent understanding
Built-in retries — students can retry questions up to six times to get them right
Visible priority — Class Tasks appear prominently in the student dashboard and override the usual adaptive feed
How to use Class Tasks in Tassomai
From your Teacher Dashboard, go to the Class Tasks tab or an individual class page
Choose the class, topic and (optionally) a linked resource
Set a start and due date — students will see the task from the start date until it’s completed or expired
View results in your dashboard as soon as students start attempting the task: see who completed it, how many retries were used, and which questions were answered correctly or incorrectly
