Meet the Customer Success Team! (We were teachers too!)

Here at Tassomai we pride ourselves on the feedback we get from teachers about our Customer Success Team, and we put that down to their extensive understanding of the education sector as a whole (and generally being wonderful people!).

Chris Gunner, Customer Success & Sales Manager

Many Tassomai teachers may already know Chris from his delightful demos and helping to get schools successfully set up on the system, but not everyone (despite how much he may mention it around the office) knows that he started his career as a secondary English teacher.

As a graduate, Chris went straight into working as a teaching assistant for 3 years until qualifying as a teacher at the same school. He became an integral part of their English department, rising to second in department, where he was responsible for the KS3 curriculum. Chris is incredibly enthusiastic about his subject and we know he must have been a brilliant teacher - he always has a keen eye for detail when testing our English literature content!

He left teaching for London and a new start at Tassomai where he is now the Sales and Customer Success Manager you know so well. Having worked in education for the first half of his career, he’s not just your average salesman, he has a personal understanding of what teachers need. Chris is also very transparent and open with Tassomai users, saying his background in teaching “helps me to be candid with customers about the things Tassomai can’t help with, as well as what it excels at. Every platform has its limitations and knowing the boundaries of a product can be very helpful in understanding how best to use it.” He’s still very much a teacher at heart.

Mark Barton, Business Development Manager

If your school is new to Tassomai, someone in your department may well know Mark, our Sales Manager, for his persuasive sales pitches and friendly introduction to Tassomai, though they might not be aware that Mark was also a teacher in a former life.

Mark taught history for 7 years as a graduate in a school near Bradford, working with the full range of secondary students from year 7-13. He insists that this part of his career feels like a lifetime ago now, but still remembers what it’s like to be a teacher (plus, Mark’s wife has been a teacher for her whole career so between that and seeing his 3 children pass through the education system, some things can be hard to forget!).

He went on to work in sales and consultancy for Pearson, meeting with senior school leaders to discuss their curriculum models and exam systems. Having continued to work with both primary and secondary leaders, he is now something of a curriculum expert, which definitely shows in his in-depth understanding of Tassomai’s platform and offering to schools.

Zoe Wood, Customer Facing Team Administrator

Zoe is one of the newest members of our team and is also new to working in EdTech, having just transitioned out of teaching. She spent several years working with SEN students on a 1:1 basis as a teaching assistant in primary and secondary schools, helping with targeted intervention and support. Zoe completed her PGCE, training in an outstanding primary school in Norfolk, before making the move into EdTech with Tassomai.

We believe Zoe’s patience and calm demeanour must have made her a brilliant teacher and, fortunately for us and our users, makes her the perfect person to solve any of your concerns when you contact the Tassomai office.

We believe in the power of education

While not all members of our team have direct experience in teaching, many of us are continuing to study alongside our roles at Tassomai. Several members of the team, including Min Moultrie, our other brilliant Customer Success Manager, are currently completing part-time master’s degrees, ranging from Psychology to Music Technology. Our amazing apprentice, Botond Dajka, is studying alongside his work with us too - we are certainly as much ‘Ed’ as we are ‘Tech’ here in the office!

Min and Edward Fung, our friendly Customer Support Manager, make up the rest of the Customers team, who are always available to help with any slight problems you have throughout the year. If you ever need to get in touch you can find all of our details HERE.

We think that our team’s personal engagement and experience within the education sector helps them to connect not only with teachers, parents and learners, but with the product itself when we are planning changes and updates. Making a product that really works for and benefits teachers is at the forefront of what we do, largely because of the brilliant team working behind the scenes.
