New Diagnostic Snapshot tool

Tassomai has partnered with Pearson to provide schools with a new diagnostic tool for the Pearson Edexcel GCSE Science specifications, enabling them to rapidly assess areas of need as students return this Autumn.

Recognising the need for teachers to quickly and accurately adapt their schemes of work after lockdown, Pearson and Tassomai developed the snapshot tool to help teachers plan necessary reteaching and laser-target their interventions.

The snapshot tool is produced as part of Tassomai’s adaptive self-setting, self-marking homework and Edexcel teachers will receive a report in the form of an interactive, customizable class table of attainment. Furthermore, Tassomai founder, Murray Morrison will be available for 1-2-1 consultations on the data as part of the service.

Schools who already use Tassomai for their Pearson Edexcel GCSE Science teaching will find the Pearson diagnostic report is an added feature on top of the normal service; schools who are not existing Tassomai customers can have the Diagnostic Snapshot as part of a 5-week free trial of the full product with no obligation.

Tassomai will contact you to arrange a screenshare demo and activate your 5-week trial. Schools using Pearson Edexcel GCSE Science will automatically qualify for the Diagnostic Snapshot report.

FAQs

Q. My school use a different exam board, can we still get the Diagnostic Snapshot?

A. At present the Diagnostic Snapshot is only available for schools teaching the Pearson Edexcel GCSE Science specifications.

Q. Can international schools following the Pearson Edexcel GCSE Science specifications get the Diagnostic Snapshot?

A. Yes, the Diagnostic Snapshot is available for schools teaching Pearson Edexcel international GCSEs.

Q. My school already uses Tassomai, do I need to do anything to get the Diagnostic Snapshot?

A. If your school teaches Pearson Edexcel GCSE Science and is already using Tassomai you will automatically receive the report.

Q. When will I get my report?

A. It will take about 3 weeks of usage for data on your students to accumulate, therefore if you get started at the beginning of the Autumn term we’ll send your report in late September.

Q. What’s the difference between the Diagnostic Snapshot and Tassomai’s existing diagnostic tools?

A. While the Tassomai product already has the power to produce detailed diagnostic data on student attainment and understanding through its dots grid, this rich dataset takes some time to build up. Recognising the need for quicker data as students return from lockdown and plan an adjusted scheme of work, the diagnostic snapshot will provide teachers with a picture of their student’s topic understanding in a shorter time frame through a carefully curated list of ‘key indicator’ questions.
