This Christmas we are turning virtual trees into real trees!
Tassomai has spent several years at the forefront of remote learning and personalised homework, having been used in hundreds of secondary schools to support students in their GCSE studies.
To celebrate passing the milestone of one billion questions answered on the platform, Tassomai launched a new feature in 2020, The Tree - an ingenious way of looking at what a student knows in a subject (and where they’re struggling).
Rather than bamboozle pupils, parents or teachers with graphs and charts, Tassomai’s Tree is a friendly, approachable way of seeing knowledge grow and improve: the more students learn, the more their tree grows and, as they master knowledge, the tree comes into leaf.
Rewarding our most engaged students
These virtual trees are now being brought to life, as the company is rewarding the most engaged schools with real trees for them to plant themselves or gift to students to recognise their exceptional use of Tassomai. Each day, from the 1st to the 18th December, the schools answering the most Tassomai questions will win real trees, delivered to their door.
Alongside this initiative, Tassomai is also sponsoring the protection of approximately 750 newly planted trees across the UK, roughly equating to one for each school using the product.
Tassomai’s founder, Murray Morrison, has used the Tree to deliver free private tuition since the start of the school year.
“It gives me an instant insight into any learner’s needs, meaning I can really help a student - even one I’ve never met before - tackle a problem that perhaps they didn’t realise themselves they were struggling with. I know that the Tree could revolutionise teaching and learning, as well as making tuition far more affordable and targeted”.
“While we’re growing ‘virtual trees’, powered by the achievements of our students, we’re passionate about growing real trees to reflect those achievements. Despite our reach in schools, we’re a small start-up, so what we can afford to do at the moment is small but we are hoping to build momentum with this project to grow and protect as many trees as possible. Our current project is being run using The Woodland Trust’s dedication scheme, which has allowed us to sponsor areas of woodland across the UK so that our schools feel connected to projects in their local areas.
