Murray Morrison

Founder and Inventor of Tassomai

Murray studied engineering at university and subsequently went on to earn a postgraduate music scholarship at Trinity College in London. He has over 15 years' experience in the field of private tuition, having worked as a science and maths tutor since 2000. During this time, he continued to play music professionally and trained as a sabre fencer and referee, ultimately representing Great Britain as a competitor and being selected as a referee for the Olympic Games in 2012.

He developed his philosophy of learning through his teaching career in trying to take the techniques used by successful athletes and musicians and apply them to students seeking to improve their academic results. Tassomai was created to help students of all academic abilities tackle the challenges of exam preparation by helping them to learn and internalise the required knowledge, to organise their time and efforts, and to build confidence.

Since 2012, Murray has been dedicated to developing Tassomai into a comprehensive and powerful learning tool that not only helps students gain excellent results in their exams, but also supports schools and teachers to bring the best out of their students.

William Bannister-Parker

Angel Investor and Director

Bill looks after the financial and legal affairs of Tassomai, and he has helped shape the company's overall development since 2013. During his 20 year career in venture capital and private equity, Bill has played key board roles in about 30 private and public companies in Europe, Africa and the Americas, several of which are software and publishing businesses. Prior to joining Tassomai, Bill was a Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer of the Capital International Private Equity Funds group.

Madeleine Inkin

Madeleine has worked with children and families for seventeen years as a teacher, counsellor and psychotherapist. Her extensive work with young people and her understanding of the way students learn has shaped the way Tassomai structures its learning program in order to be most effective. Madeleine develops programmes for schools, tutors, mentors and therapists whilst catering to the needs of her young client group. She currently has a private practice in Harley Street.

Andrew Dawson

Andrew Dawson

Website Manager

Andrew has been working at Tassomai since its relocation to East London and has since gained a number of responsibilities, including, but not limited to, customer relations and support, schools administration and project management.

His free time is spent making music with his friends and at the climbing wall with his colleagues, which is greatly helped by the informal yet hard-working atmosphere that working at Tassomai affords him.

Dan Wheatley

Dan Wheatley

Technical Manager and Developer

Dan has over ten years’ experience in education, having worked as a tutor in Mathematics and Physics since 2003. In the last few years he has moved into web development, and has been involved with Tassomai, which has been an excellent fit for his skills and interests, since October 2014. 

As well as having a passion for asking and answering questions generally, from mathematics challenges to cryptic crosswords, Dan is also a keen musician. From both music and teaching he emphasises the important lesson that regular practice brings deep intuition to any field. This is really at the heart of Tassomai's methodology, and has made him keen to help make our program the best tool for raising the bar in education.

Fraser Embleton-Smith

Developer and Project Manager

Fraser is a full stack web developer whose responsibilities also include some project management, technical recruitment and making the office smell of coffee. As a recent Biology graduate who has become a self-taught programmer since leaving university, he has a passion for independent learning and science.

Automating a good teaching experience poses ambitious technical challenges in terms of application architecture, server infrastructure and user interface design; Fraser loves working at Tassomai as it gives him the chance to tackle problems like these. As someone who has been fortunate enough to have been gifted an excellent education, he firmly believes the same should be available to everyone regardless of social and financial background.

Anna Johnson-Hill

Operations Manager

Anna has had a varied career working as a PA for luxury brands, within the Royal Household and most recently for an innovation agency and start-up accelerator. She thrives in a fluid working environment where things can change quickly, and brings her passion for organising and making a difference to Tassomai as our Operations Manager. She is an avid skier, an energetic dancer and an admirer of nature.

Harry Boteler

Harry Boteler

Content Editor

Harry graduated from Cambridge in 2015 with a 2.i in Theology and RS, and is working part time for Tassomai as a Content Editor. He is also a professional fencer for Great Britain, with the ultimate aim of qualifying for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. The Tassomai philosophy of regular practice being the key to attaining good results is something that Harry has personal experience of through his fencing, and is one of the main reasons for him working here.

As well as being a passionate football fan, he also loves travelling, something he is fortunate to do with fencing, with training camps and competitions meaning he leaves the country almost every month.

Abubakar Khalid

Content Manager

Abu is a recent MEng Material Science graduate at QMUL, where he enjoyed being part of the university football team. Abu’s role at Tassomai has been to head up the content team in preparing, organising and writing the material that students will use in the new 1-9 specification. His friendly and relaxed approach has been ideal in hiring and steering a new content team through the new GCSE specifications.

Abu’s other role involves Physics content organisation and writing. This day to day activity allows him to have an understanding of what problems his colleagues may face and how to solve them before it brings a halt to the content teams workflow. Finally, his highly motivated mindset complements his ambitious planning for delivering high quality projects.

Rishi Joshi

Rishi Joshi

Content Creator

Rishi is one of the newer members of the team but, as a recent graduate, is a veteran of the revision game. His role consists of creating the awesome content from which Tassomai's enthusiastic students can extract valuable knowledge.

His organisational skills are second only to Mendeleev, and the abundance of scientific knowledge he possesses gives him the ability to catalyse the content creation process. A noble man, his neon personality helps light up the office, making him a joy to work with!

Henry Richardson

Henry recently graduated from Kingston University having studied Illustration Animation. He now brings his passion for collage and moving image to Tassomai’s design. Tassomai is a perfect place for Henry, who hails from a big family of teachers, to explore visual communication for an educational purpose.
