Unlock new Linked Resources

Tassomai students are now able to unlock links to external resources, tailored to their individual learning needs and accessible on completion of Daily Goals in each core subject.

We are pleased to introduce a new Tassomai feature that we hope students, teachers and parents will be as excited about as we are!

From today, students working towards their maths, science and English GCSEs will be able to unlock links to external resources, accessible on completion of their Daily Goals. These external links are primarily BBC Bitesize pages, curated by our content specialists and identified by our algorithm as directly relevant to the learner.

** Update August 2023: Linked Resources were initially only available to KS4 students but are now available for KS3 students as well**

The links we recommend to a student will be based on mistakes they've made in their quizzes that day, and will only be listed for a limited time. This is to encourage students to focus on immediate correction of their mistakes and to avoid distracting from the core retrieval practice aspect of Tassomai.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Is this new feature available via the website and the Tassomai app?
A. Yes, it will be going live on all formats at the same time but there may be a slight delay before it appears on mobile apps as we have to wait for approval from Apple and Google Play.

Q. Where will a student find these links?
A. The links will be displayed “in app” on completion of the Daily Goal for each of the core subjects they study on Tassomai (maths, English, science), they will also be accessible in a new “resources” tab on the app and on the student dashboard.

Q. How long will links be displayed for?
A. Links will only be displayed for the remainder of the day (until midnight), this is to avoid distracting from the core retrieval practice focus of Tassomai’s quizzes.

Q. Will a student see Linked Resources after completing every Daily Goal?
A. No, the algorithm will only show links when it identifies a need (due to errors in quizzes) and when there is an appropriate link to share.

Q. How many links might be displayed?
A. A maximum of 3 links per core subject on any given day.

Q. Are all the links to BBC Bitesize?
A. Yes, for the time being, we’re looking at widening this out to other providers in the future.

Q. Can parents and teachers see a student’s list of Linked Resources?
A. Not at the moment, but we may develop this further in future depending on feedback we receive.
